What is a pre-order

When we are out of stock but have a shipment on the way, we can add items to the website for Pre-order. When selecting items on Pre-order, there is a note that advises when they are due to arrive. This date may be updated on occasion due to shipping delays or quarantine hold ups - both of which are out of our control.

Please note that if your shopping cart contains both in stock items and Pre-ordered items, the order will be dispatched when all items are available.

Do the swim parkas have a seatbelt opening for a 5 point harness?

Our swim parkas are designed with seat belt openings in the back, allowing for hassle-free car seat usage. These openings are available in swim parkas up to and including size 8.
NOTE: This opening is not on the Great Aussie Sleeveless swim parkas

Do I wear the swim parka over wet bathers

Yes! Our swim parkas feature an extremely effective watertight technique that prevents water from seeping through. So, if your swimsuit is still wet when you wear the swim parka in the car, rest assured that not a single drop will penetrate the outer shell. You can, for example, pour a cup of water on the inner lining of the swim parka and give it a good squeeze and not a single drop will make it to the other side. This is how they keep your car seats dry.

Are the swim parkas waterproof?

While our AquaDash swim parkas have a water-resistant outer shell that can repel light raindrops and splashes, they are not designed to be completely waterproof like raincoats. We do not recommend using them as a substitute for waterproof outerwear.

What do I do if the item I received is faulty?

In the unlikely event that you receive a faulty item, please Contact Us and we will arrange for a replacement to be sent right away. Please have either an order or invoice number at hand when contacting us. We will include a prepaid satchel for you to return faulty product to us so we can see what went wrong.

Please note, AquaDash has the right to assess the age and condition of returned items if they have been worn.

My zipper appears to be faulty

If you are worried your zipper is faulty, please read these instructions!

First thing to be aware of is that there are two pull tabs - not just one! If you are only using one pull tab, the zipper won't work!

To begin, you need to ensure that both of the pull tabs are all the way down the bottom of the zipper. Once the tabs are firmly seated at the bottom, you can insert the free zip edge through them both. This really needs to "click" into place before pulling the top tab of the zipper up. You can then pull the top tab upwards while holding the bottom tab firmly in place to zip up the coat.

And that's it! One pull tab will be at the top of the parka, and the other remains down the bottom.

Once you have worked it out, you can then easily pull the bottom tab up to open the parka from the bottom allowing for more leg room for either driving or just running around.

This is also really handy when it is too warm to have your parka all zipped up. Once you have started to zip up your parka, you can pull the top tab down to the middle of the zipper and pull the bottom tab up to the middle to meet it. This will hold the 2 sides of the parka together whilst still allowing it to stay mostly open.

My toweling has a pull - is it faulty

Not at all! Due to the nature of cotton toweling being formed by a series of loops, pulls may occur. As our towels are woven, pulled threads will not unravel the fabric. Should you find you have a little snag in the towel lining of your swim parka, simply snip off the pulled loop with a pair of sharp scissors. Trimming off pulled threads will avoid further damage and will not affect the softness or durability of the towel.

Child Size Chart

How to measure

*These are the parkas measurements - not your childs - and are to be used only as a guideline.

1. length

Measure your child from the back of the neck down to see where the hem will sit. There is no rule as to what the "correct" length is but around mid-calf is good.

2. chest

Lifts arms slightly and measure the fullest part of the chest while keeping the tape straight across the back. Keep in mind you want your parka larger so you have wiggle room.

3. Arm Length

This measurement is taken from the centre of the back of the neck, over the shoulders to the end of the cuff.

CHILDS (UNISEX) LONG SLEEVED SWIM PARKA

 Size Approx Age Length INCH
(neck to hem)
Chest INCH Arm Length INCH
(neck to cuff)
2 1-2 23.6" 30.7" 20.4"
4 2-3 25.5" 32.3" 22"
6 4-5 27.5" 33.8" 23.6"
8 6-7 31.4" 35.4" 25.5"
10 7-8 35.4" 37" 27.5"
12 9-10 39.3" 38.5" 29.5"
14 11-12 43.3" 40.9" 31.4"

For children the most important measurement is the length. I suggest going as long as possible for it to last a couple of years! If the arms are long, they can be rolled up or I find the kids love putting their thumb through the gap between the button and cuff!

Care Instructions

Swim Parkas

Care for your Swim Parka in summary.
Can machine wash
Dry inside out
Do not tumble dry
Do not pack or store while wet
Do not dry clean, bleach or iron
Watch for rough edges around the pool or concrete surfaces – they can create pulls in the fabric

TIP: Surprisingly, our Swim Parkas don’t take on the chlorine smell as much as a regular towel. After use, simply turn inside out to air dry until needed again. If they are aired out properly, you can put off washing your swim parka until after 8-10 times of using.

For those of you who like the details, read on!

Machine Wash
We recommend you turn your swim parka inside out when washing. Use a regular, cold cycle with a mild detergent.

Drying
Dry inside out and when drying outside, do not hang in direct sunlight. The sun will cause your parka to fade quicker than expected.
Do not dry your swim parka in a dryer as it will damage the effectiveness of the water proofing.

Storage
Do not pack or store your swim parka when wet. Moisture, darkness and heat can cause bacteria to breed and this will eat away at the fabric.

Do not dry clean, iron or bleach
Just don’t!

Avoid contact with rough surfaces
The edges of pools are often rough and abrasive so you do not slip when walking on them. Although it may not feel rough to you it will to your swim parka. The fabric of your swim parka can snag or pilling may occur when coming into contact with any rough surface. If you want to sit on the pool edge, its best to sit on a towel.
